How to make ISO image file ?

What is ISO ?
In common man’s language, ISO Image is a file which in which entire content of CD/DVD is stored. Since it is a one single file, it is easy to keep it, maintaining single file is not so difficult. When we want to create replica of an CD/DVD we just burn ISO file into a Blank CD/DVD. ISO image is generally made to store content of CD/DVD in single file having, .ISO extension. But we can also make ISO image of a group of files, Say- Your favorite software collection and can letter use it to make a CD/DVD having your favorite software collection.


How to make an ISO image ?
ISO image is very easy to make through a kind of Freeware software.

a. How to make ISO image of CD/DVD ?
There are many professional and advance software available on web, Like- NERO but in this article we will talk about a Very simple program. To make ISO image file of a CD/DVD follow the given steps:
1. Download ImgBurn from here.
2. Install ImgBurn
3. Run ImgBurn(Through shortcut icon created on Desktop or through Start menu)
4. Insert CD/DVD of which you want to create ISO Image in CD/DVD drive of your computer.
5. Once ImgBurn starts, Select ‘Create image file from disc’[ ] to create ISO image of CD/DVD.
6. Wait for few seconds, Now under ‘Source’ section make sure right drive is selected.
7. Now under ‘Destination’ section, Click on “Folder icon having magnifying class symbol”
8. Now select the location where you want to save file and Type in name you want image to be saved as.
Now Very Important step, In Save as type select “ISO files(*.iso)”.
9. Click on Save
10. Click on this Icon-Build ISO Icon and wait till process is finished. [ A pop-up box may appear, Click on 'Yes'] That’s it!

b. How to make ISO image of Files and Folder
Simple, by using same program i.e. ImgBurn and this time select ‘Create image file from files/folders’
1. Under ‘Source’ section click on ‘Folder Icon having magnifying glass symbol’ to select a folder which you want to make ISO image of or click Icon above it to select file which you want to include in ISO image.
2. Under ‘Destination’ section click on ‘Folder Icon having magnifying glass symbol’ to select Save location and file name. Make sure ‘Save as Type’ is ISO
3. Click on Build ISO Icon and Wait till process completes.
